Getting Here ~ Getting Around

Whidbey Island is reached by land over Deception Pass from the north or sea in the south via the Mukilteo/Clinton Ferry and the middle via the Coupeville/Port Townsend ferry. Here are a few of the different ways to get to and around the island.

The Washington State Ferry system serves Whidbey Island at both Clinton and Coupeville.  The Clinton/Mukilteo ferry runs every half hour.  The Coupeville/Port Townsend ferry runs every 90 minutes (every 45 minutes in the summer). See this ferry schedule for departure times and general information.  View current ferry traffic here.
Island Transit provides FREE bus service throughout much of Whidbey Island, from Deception Pass at the top of the island to Clinton at the bottom and to the ferry terminals at Clinton/Mukilteo and Keystone/Port Townsend. Park your car at one of the local park-n-ride lots and take the bus to almost anywhere on the island and directly to the Clinton Ferry terminal.
The Sounder is an ideal way to travel from the island to downtown Seattle. Ride the ferry to Mukilteo and catch the train for a pleasant trip without the hassle of traffic.
Whidbey Seatac Shuttle provides fast, direct, and daily transportation between Whidbey Island and SeaTac Airport. There are currently 8 round trips per day.
